The exquisite work Fountain of Butterflies was designed by artist Tonino Guerra and inaugurated in 2003. It has become one of the symbols of Sogliano al Rubicone; it represents a cry against the horror of war and a song to life. In a circular pool of black marble lies a mosaic butterfly, over which jets of water weave. “Above a carpet, arrived in Romagna from the African desert, some butterflies want to detach themselves and take flight” – Tonino Guerra.
