The Porta Malatestiana, located at the beginning of the very central Via Giovanni Pascoli, dates back to the first half of the 15th century, a period in which several works were carried out. The gate was connected to the fortress by a dense system of corridors and tunnels. In 1518 Count Ramberto Malatesta began the conversion of the existing complex by donating it to the Augustinian nuns.
