The oratory was built according to the wishes of Ramberto Malatesta for the people who lived outside the castle walls. Its construction dates back to the early 16th century and is the only building that can be visited by the public in the entire monastery of Santa Maria della Vita. It was originally smaller and oriented differently: it had the apse in what is now the right chapel and the door where the high altar is today. After it was donated to the Convent of the Augustinian Nuns, the small church was annexed to the Augustinian Monastery in 1824, from 1845 work began to expand, modify and enrich it with works such as the painting of Our Lady of the Spasimo, restored in 1974, is now in the Suffrage Church. The Augustinian nuns remained there until the early 1990s, when they were replaced by the Carmelites, who currently live there.
