At the top of the mountain known as Mount of the Vineyards, there was a small shrine, which in time was enlarged and rebuilt at the foot of the mountain and reduced to its present form.
But what is of particular interest about this oratory is a large canvas, currently on display in the Suffrage Church.
The painting depicts the Madonna enthroned, holding the Child Jesus, graciously offering little St. John a bunch of cherries. Above is a mountain surmounted by towers, this is most likely the mountain of Strigara
The painting is dated June 8, 1575. On the lower left is the inscription “Marub. F.F.” which is interpreted as “Malatesta Roberto fece.”
