INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR PEACE
H.E. Msgr. Pietro Sambi (1938-2011), Archbishop of Belcastro Apostolic Nuncio to the Holy See, loved to spend his periods of rest in his homelands. He, a native of Pietra dell’Uso, had purchased a building located at the eastern end of the historic center of Sogliano al Rubicone to use as his residence during his stays in Sogliano. In order to follow up on his extraordinary diplomatic and cultural action carried out in the world, in December 2012 the Municipal Administration launched the project to transform the building named “Casa Sambi” into an International Center for Peace, with the specific intent of enhancing both the figure of Monsignor Sambi and his work in favor of world peace and cooperation among peoples. Today inside this multifunctional cultural building are:
an exhibition space dedicated to the Monsignor’s spiritual materials and bequests;
a library made with the texts of the “Sambi Fund”
a small conference room.
