The Vintage Record Museum was born from the private collection of Mr. Roberto Parenti and is dedicated to music and the evolution of sound recording from 1877, with the first wax cylinders, to modern laser disks. The collection includes more than 50,000 vinyls, antique wax cylinders, gramophones, a collection of 3,000 opera librettos, platinum records, autographed guitars that belonged to famous artists, and various art objects. Authentic rarities can be admired: 50 cm diameter Pathé records, rare picture discs, original Woodstock festival tickets, autographed guitars by Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, gold and platinum records awarded to the most prestigious rock musicians. 140 years of contemporary history told through records, mirabilia, gadgets and terracotta figurines representing the most famous figures in music history, a valuable photo archive dating back to the 1920s-50s, and hundreds of sacred music works. The Vintage Record Museum has been recognized by Google Arts and Culture as a site of interest and has been listed on the portal as one of the world’s top 2,000 museums. The Italian Republic also awarded medals to Mr. Roberto Parenti for the Record Museum as an official recognition of a cultural initiative of national significance.
