The Vintage Record Museum was born from the private collection of Mr. Roberto Parenti and is dedicated to music and the evolution of sound recording starting from 1877, with the first wax cylinders, up to the modern laser disks.
The collection includes more than 50,000 vinyls, antique wax cylinders, gramophones, a collection of 3,000 opera librettos, platinum records, autographed guitars belonging to famous artists, and various art objects.
You can admire authentic rarities: Pathè records of 50 cm in diameter, rare picture discs, original tickets for the Woodstock festival, guitars autographed by Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, gold and platinum records awarded to the most prestigious rock musicians.
140 years of contemporary history told through records, mirabilia, gadgets and terracotta statuettes representing the most famous characters in musical history, a valuable photographic archive dating back to the 20s and 50s and hundreds of works of sacred music.
The Vintage Record Museum has been recognized by Google Arts and Culture as a site of interest and has been included on the portal among the 2,000 most important museums in the world.
The Italian Republic has also awarded medals to Mr. Roberto Parenti, for the Museo del Disco, as official recognition of a cultural initiative of national importance.
