Pathway:

This 6.3-km-long route is easy and has a minimal elevation gain, amounting to 270 meters. The expected walking time is 2h and 10m. It starts from the historic center of Sogliano al Rubicone, but first we recommend visiting some of the interesting permanent exhibitions set up at the Palazzo della Cultura: the “Permanent Exhibition of the Record and Musical Recording,” the “Collection of Arte Povera,” the “Leonardo da Vinci and Romagna Museum,” and the “Christa Line Museum.” Within the confines of the historic center we also point out the MUSO – underground museum, the “Veggiani Collection,” the ancient icehouse the Mining Museum, the pits of Sogliano PDO Fossa Cheese.
We recommend reservations for the above-mentioned places.

It is advisable to follow the path counterclockwise, start from Sogliano al Rubicone in the direction of Vallino (115) until you ford the Rubicone River and then go up in the direction of Monte Curto on path 115c, about 3/4 of the way up you can make a detour to the left and see the remains of the first coal mine of Italy, the Capannaccio mine open from 1790 to 1942. We continue on path 115c/115d towards Sogliano al Rubicone, inside a roundabout, we will meet the Vitruvian Man, a sculpture made on a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci: a famous representation of the ideal proportions of the human body, it demonstrates how it can be harmoniously inscribed in the two “perfect” figures of the circle and the square. Leonardo’s drawing was inspired by a passage by the architect Vitruvius (first century BC).
The last stretch, on the road, takes us back to the historic center of Sogliano al Rubicone.
