Santa Maria Riopetra soars over the barren Riopetra gullies, welcoming you to the village is the Church of Santa Maria (1789), which houses a splendid 18th-century organ inside. Adjacent to the church are the rectory premises that house the Don Onofri Museum, dedicated to Bishop Teodoro Onofri (1909 – 1987), a native of the place. He was a composer, music director, educator and writer. The museum collects his historical memory, intimately linked to these places. It displays musical scores, books, letters, poems, paintings, and photographs.
