Over the millennia, the flow of water has allowed a unique landscape of rare beauty to be created in this area. Carving its course into the sandstone, the small river has created small waterfalls, small lakes, whirlpools and the famous “Giants’ potholes” that characterize the entire area. Here visitors will also have the chance to admire the Romanesque Bridge, dating back to the Middle Ages (probably built around 1000) and made of tanned stone, with a round arch, completely restored in 2005.
Located in Montetiffi, it was the ancient connection point between the high lands of Romagna and Montefeltro (it was also used for smuggling gunpowder and alcohol). Next to the bridge are still the ruins of the ancient Molino Tornani, built of local sandstone.
