Bullying, “Ikos”, a short film on bullying written and directed by Giuseppe Sciarra and starring Edoardo Purgatori
Ikos, a short film on bullying written and directed by Giuseppe Sciarra and starring the young actor Edoardo Purgatori, in the cast of “Le Fate ignoranti”, “Drought”, “Romantiche”. IKOS is a work of denunciation in which Sciarra, also through the interpretation of his alter ego Edoardo Purgatori, tells his story of a bullied teenager through archive images, performance art and chamber cinema. Violence and abuse that took place in the province of Foggia in the 90s fomented by the alleged homosexuality of the young victim. The initiative is carried out by AGEDO Rimini Cesena (Association of Parents, relatives and friends of LGBTQ+ people) in collaboration with the Municipality of Sogliano al Rubicone and is part of the actions of the project “Generations united in equal rights”, approved and co-financed by the Emilia-Romagna Region as part of the Policies for Equal Opportunities and the fight against discrimination and removal of prejudice and gender stereotypes and which sees the Municipality of San Mauro Pascoli as lead partner, AGEDO Rimini Cesena as coordinator and a wide network of subjects involved: Municipality of Cesena, Municipality of Bertinoro, Municipality of Gambettola, Municipality of Riccione, Municipality of Roncofreddo, Municipality of Sogliano al Rubicone, Arcigay Rimini “Alan Turing“, Legacoop Emilia-Romagna, Demetra Formazione, Rimini Musical, Proloco Aisem, Scout CNGEI Bellaria Igea Marina, ASD Yessai hip hop dance school of San Mauro Pascoli.
The initiative also includes a moment of dialogue and sharing with the public. Bullying is just one of the issues that AGEDO wants to address and is a starting point for discussing the abuses that occur daily in every sector of our society. A.GE. D.O is a social volunteer organization, founded in 1993 as an association of parents, relatives and friends of homosexual people, with the aim of helping and supporting those parents who live in a state of discomfort and suffering due to the discovery of their children’s homosexuality. It is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-denominational, anti-racist, pacifist organization. On 26 March 2018, the Volunteer Organization (SB) A.GE. D.O Rimini Cesena, with registered office in San Mauro Pascoli (FC) and representing the territory of Romagna.
