46th Sogliano PDO Pit Cheese Fair The fascinating history of pit cheese is lost in time. Considered a small treasure as early as the 18th century, dimpling techniques have since become more and more refined, and in 2009 this product of Romagna’s excellence was awarded DOP status with the name “Formaggio di Fossa di Sogliano DOP”. The “46th Fiera del Formaggio di Fossa di Sogliano Dop Cheese Fair” takes place on Sundays November 21, 28 and December 5, 2021, and many side events are organized: theatrical, musical and recreational performances, an area dedicated to children, conferences, concerts, wine and cheese tastings, with stands of typical products from different parts of Italy. One street is entirely dedicated to children and entertainment, with animations and ancient games. Don’t miss the exhibits and museums with free admission: the Vintage Record Museum, the Poor Art Collection, the Christa Line Museum, the Leonardo da Vinci and Romagna Museum, the Veggiani Collection, the Fossa Cheese Museum and the Mining Museum. During fair hours, exhibits remain open, events and exhibitions are FREE ENTRANCE, unless otherwise noted. Free guided tours are also organized along the landmarks of the Old Town.
