    Francesco Piccolo tells the editorial epic of Tomasi di Lampedusa’s masterpiece. In 2025, the year in which Feltrinelli celebrates its 70 years of publishing history, Francesco Piccolo brings The Leopard to the stage. An incredible story, a theatrical reading that traces the extraordinary story of Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa’s most famous novel. Published posthumously by Feltrinelli in 1958, The Leopard is now considered an absolute classic of Italian literature, but its path to publication was anything but simple. With his usual irony and narrative depth, Francesco Piccolo reconstructs on stage an exciting and entertaining story, between editorial rejections, ideological controversies, misunderstandings and triumphs. Through a monologue that is also a cultural and sentimental investigation, Piccolo reveals the background of one of the most fascinating publishing events of the twentieth century. On stage, the writer intertwines the story of the book with his famous film adaptation, signed by Luchino Visconti, showing some of the most iconic scenes of the film to highlight the indissoluble bond between the two works.
