Ancient Pits

The Antiche Fosse have always enjoyed great fame. Their history is directly linked to the Malatesta family and they have been producing Formaggio di Fossa for more than 700 years with experience and devotion.

The family that owns the Antiche Fosse has handed down and spread the tradition to the present day, collecting over the years renowned awards including “Ovillus Aureus Il Pecorino d’oro”, distinguishing itself as one of the finest Italian pecorino cheeses.

What is produced?
– Fossa di Sogliano PDO cheese (pecorino, cow’s milk and mixed)
– Fossa® delle Antiche Fosse cheese (pecorino, pecorino raw milk, cow’s, goat’s milk and mixed)- Fossa® cheese with truffles

Fossa® Rubicondo cheese (red spotted cow’s milk)

Wide range of wines, Savor, jams, giardiniere, organic oil, Montetiffi pans, organic flour of ancient grains.
It is possible to pack pit cheeses in printed canvas bags, and set up packages and gift baskets with typical local products of various kinds and sizes, directly in the shop or by reservation, both for individuals and companies.

Retail sales are carried out.

Cheese tasting for those interested in ‘purchase is free of charge.
Plate tastings are organized by reservation only with min 2 people. Groups are accepted.
